Fujinon MK to RED DSMC Conversion

Assembly Guide

Overview

When doing the mount swap you will need a clean environment and a stable flat surface.

All the parts and tools you will need are provided in the conversion kit.

Its important to take your time when doing this conversion to minimalise any risk of damaging the lens

Even when going slowly the process is fairly quick to carry out & should take approximately 15 minutes to do.

Prepping the Cinelux Mount

You can keep the mount in the packaging at this stage to protect the anodised rear of the mount from marks.

  • Thread the knurled thumb screws into the Cinelux Mount

Removing the Sony E Mount

Place the Fujinon MK lens with the front of the lens (with the lens cap on) facing your work surface.

You can then use one hand to support the lens and the other to remove the screws.

  • Remove 4 x Phillips screws from the Sony E Mount
  • Remove the Sony E Mount
  • Remove white plastic shims
  • Remove 3 x Phillips screws from the Green Cowell
  • Remove the Green Cowell

Attaching the Cinelux Mount

The tolerances are very tight, so it has to be aligned perfectly perpendicular for the mount to fit.

Make sure that the optic tension shim sits correctly inside the DSMC > Fujinon MK Mount.

  • Fit the white optic tension shim onto the rear of the lenses macro adjustment ring
  • Fit the DSMC > Fujinon MK Mount onto the lens

Attaching the Cinelux Mount

Take your time with this section as the rear element of the lens is exposed.

Apply a small amount of pressure onto the mount, so that it seats with the lens correctly.

  • Screw in 8 x 3mm - M1.6 Stainless Steel Matte Black Countersunk Screws into the back of the mount
  • Check for a fluid movement of the Macro adjustment

If the macro adjustment is not easy to move, check the rear optic tension shim has seated correctly

If not seated undo step 1, re-seat the optic tension shim and redo step 1.

Attaching the Cinelux Mount

  • Screw in 2 x 4mm - M1.6 Stainless Steel Screws into the channels on the left and right side's of the mount

Attaching the Cinelux Mount

  • Screw in 1 x 10mm - M1.6 Stainless Steel Screw + Rubber Sleeve, into the channel on the bottom of the mount

Checking Lens to Mount Connection

  • Double check all screws are hand tight, seated correctly and not loose.
